Public Diplomacy: The Role of Montana and UM Alumni Citizen Diplomats in Our National Security Strategy
The perceptions of people around the world of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions have no small impact on our national security. Cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges that create networks and influence these perceptions are central to ensuring the long-term stability of our nation and our place in the international community. Deena will discuss the importance of public diplomacy programs in advancing these interests and articulating America’s vision to overseas audiences, with a particular focus on the role of Montanans and UM alumni as citizen diplomats.

Deena Mansour, executive director of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center, University of Montana Since 2009, Deena has served as part of the leadership team guiding the vision and operations of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center, with a mission to foster globally-minded leaders of integrity.
